old merchants quarters

During my stay in Ise city I had two must see places on my itinerary list, which were the Ise Grand Shrine (Ise-jingu) and the old merchants quarters called Kawasaki. The quarter is also known as The Kitchen of Ise. This neighbourhood along the Seta River is full with traditional houses from the Edo period. I took some moments to really absorb this beautiful atmosphere.
